  1. Version 2.6.5 Release

    Dear user of Radio Explorer!

Version 2.6.5 has been released today, June 29, 2007.

This version provides an adjustment that makes it possible to open the HFCC schedule for the current broadcasting season (summer 2007, A07) using the original schedule zip archive, without having to manually modify the names of some files contained in the schedule zip archive.

In addition to that, this version provides correction for the problem with information about the days of week not being displayed correctly in some cases for Prime Time Shortwave schedules, as well as corrections for some minor problems.

It should be noted that there is still a relatively significant known problem in Radio Explorer, with incorrect information about the number of transmitter locations in a schedule displayed on the Statistics tab of the Properties dialog box for EiBi and HFCC schedules. Correction for this problem, as well as corrections for a few minor problems, will be provided in the next version of Radio Explorer, which should be released in the near future.

For more information about supported schedules, please see the Input Data page on Radio Explorer Web site at:

  5. Unofficial EiBi B06 Schedule Update of January 4, 2007

    Dear user of Radio Explorer!

The unofficial EiBi schedule for the B06, winter 2006 - 2007 broadcasting season has been updated today, January 5, 2007, in response to the update of the official EiBi schedule, now dated January 4, 2007, and is available for download at:
    http://www.radioexplorer.com.ru/bc-b06.zip

The file size is 89 KB, the date on which information was updated for the schedule is January 4.

It should be noted that the official EiBi schedule for the B06 broadcasting season has become available in the time-ordered format, starting with this update of January 4. However, the current format of the official time-ordered schedule is different from one that was used during previous seasons. As an advantage, the current format provides more space for station names. As a disadvantage, the current official time-ordered schedule is not directly suitable for use with Radio Explorer. Therefore, the unofficial EiBi schedule has been updated again. It has been compiled using the official time-ordered schedule as a source.

It should also be noted that an update is now planned for Radio Explorer, which will allow it to open EiBi schedules in their current official format.

Thank you for using Radio Explorer!

    http://www.radioexplorer.com.ru/bc-b06_2006-12-28.zip

The file size is 97 KB, the date on which information was updated for this version is December 28.

The second one corresponds to the most recent update of the official frequency-sorted EiBi schedule, now dated January 1, 2007. It is available at:
    http://www.radioexplorer.com.ru/bc-b06.zip

The file size is 95 KB, the date on which information was updated for this version is January 1.

  8. Unofficial EiBi B06 Schedule Updated

    Dear user of Radio Explorer!

The unofficial EiBi schedule for the winter 2006 - 2007 broadcasting season has been updated today, November 30, 2006, and is available for download at:
    http://www.radioexplorer.com.ru/bc-b06.zip

The file size is 97 KB, the date on which information was updated for the schedule is November 29.

This update is a response to the update of the official frequency-sorted EiBi schedule, now dated November 29.

Please note that the first version of the unofficial schedule, announced in the previous newsletter message, had some records truncated, which was due to a mistake made while compiling the schedule. Because of that, for some broadcasts the schedule provided Radio Explorer with incorrect information on what transmitter was used for the broadcast. This issue is resolved in the updated version of the schedule.

Thank you for using Radio Explorer!

  9. Unofficial EiBi B06 Schedule for Radio Explorer

    Dear user of Radio Explorer!

An unofficial EiBi schedule for the winter 2006 - 2007 broadcasting season, suitable for use with Radio Explorer, is now available for download at:
    http://www.radioexplorer.com.ru/bc-b06.zip

The file size is 100 KB, the date on which information was updated for this schedule is November 24, 2006.

While the official time-sorted EiBi schedule is expected to be available soon, in the meantime you can, without further delay, start using this unofficial schedule, which has been compiled with the official frequency-sorted schedule as a source, and which provides essentially the same information to Radio Explorer as the official time-sorted schedule would.

It should be noted that the information about transmitter locations has been changed in the new season's schedule as compared with the previous season's. Radio Explorer has been verified to handle the new data correctly. No adjustment to the program is necessary in this regard.

I hope you enjoy using Radio Explorer! And a huge thank-you to Eike Bierwirth, the author of the original schedules, for making it possible.

  10. Version 2.6.3 Release

This version is a response to a minor format change introduced in the latest Prime Time Shortwave schedule, published on May 13, 2006. The Prime Time Shortwave schedules now use the 'se' keyword to designate broadcasts in Special English (a simplified variant of the language), currently offered by the Voice of America. Radio Explorer has been updated to handle this keyword and display language information accordingly. Keywords 'SpEng' and 'SE', which were previously used for the same purpose, are now also supported. This means that you can query the latest Prime Time Shortwave schedule, as well as previous ones, for broadcasts in Special English using the language criterion. In addition to that, handling of other keywords has also been improved. Previously, for broadcasts marked with the 'alt' keyword, information displayed in the broadcast notes was the keyword itself. Now the keyword is expanded and broadcast notes display the 'alternate frequency' text. Similarly, for broadcasts marked with the 'occ' keyword, broadcast notes now display the 'occasional use' text.

  11. Version 2.6.2 Release

This version brings corrections for a number of minor problems discovered since the previous release. In particular, information about transmitter locations in EiBi schedules is now handled with increased precision. Also, this version adds support for DRM (Digital Radio Mondiale) broadcasts in EiBi schedules. For stations that contain the DIGITAL keyword in their names, broadcast modulation is assigned the DRM value. Now you can query an EiBi schedule for DRM broadcasts by modulation, and then precise your query by any other criteria. It should be noted that with the Prime Time Shortwave schedules, support for DRM broadcasts has already been available. For information about schedules supported by Radio Explorer, please see the Input Data page of the Radio Explorer Web site at http://www.radioexplorer.com.ru/data.html
