Ummm, the PES 2008 demo is out, one of the bigger PC demo releases this year with 12,000 downloads from GamersHell in 2 hours and probably beating the FIFA demo in every department.
Not just that it is a great and popular title, but the demo alone also weighs 1.1 GB. Needless to say that most servers are crowded right now... The game is supposed to be multilanguage so you can download it from

Attached is a series of live gameplay video footage of Valve's HalfLife Episode 2. Doesn't look very spectacular so far, but nice explosion effects as usual. As with the previous parts, it's probably the storyline which saves the game anyways.

FEAR Combat is out now and web servers all over the world are choking to deliver the 1.8GB game (full version!) to the gamers.
To play, all you need is a free CD-key from www.joinfear.com and of course the game itself.
Here are a couple of file mirrors:

In some cases, it's the idea which makes a game. Something along the lines of Spore - or this title, "Drawn to be Alive".
The game is actually an Unreal Tournament 2004 mod and is being developed by French design school students as a school project. It's due in October 2006.
From what you can see so far, the gameplay is about being a 2D cartoon character who is deployed in a 3D world. Your

25.7. - The first screenshots of NBA Live 07 (EA Sports) on XBox 360
This is probably as close to photorealistic as it gets on the 360. You can see the players' sweating, detailed reflections on skin and muscles as well ass realistic blurs in the background. If they get around and make the player faces more dynamic, it will become shockingly real.

Disable the ghost car in GTR 2 demo
The GTR2 demo seems fine, except for the fact that the ghost car in time trial mode gets on my nerves. Plus, there is no way to disable it via the GTR menu.
To deactivate your ghost car and make it disappear, you have to edit your player configuration file which is located in your GTR2 directory (GTR2demo/UserData/profilename/profilename.plr).

SubSpace is apparently an underground game now. Not that it was added to the Home of the Underdogs, but it has lost virtually every public existence on the web.
During the past years, there were two big SubSpace sites which held the name of the game up: SubSpace.net and SubSpaceHQ.com.
SubSpace.net was lost (expired?) some time ago but there was still SubSpaceHQ.
Not anymore.
SubSpaceHQ was

Thirty titles that could keep the cash tills ringing through the long hot months - Well, not really. Who's playing in summer, especially such a hot one as this?
Most of these titles are to be released in autumn. Makes sense from a sales point of view.
Anyway, some promising titles in the next months once again. My peek list:

MMOGCHART.com says WoW is now sitting at 50 percent market share and rising. The market? Massively multiplayer games.
Already in 2004 it was pretty clear that WoW would become the most successful MMORPG ever. "Genre gurus" didn't see the game matching its hype and predicted the WoW hype to fade out soon enough. Now, 2 years later, the number of subscriptions is still rising.
Where are these

Ghost car mod for Live for Speed
The best online racing simulator on the net, Live for Speed, finally has had a ghost mod added which allows you to see a ghost car with you on track as you practice (alone).
It uses the InSim interface to communicate with the game and always records the fastest lap as your ghost by default, including all split times.
The green/yellow/red lines show whether the

My first non-custom game of Warcraft 3 after what? - 2 years maybe - turned out to be a great noob vs. noob shootout.

Quake 4 autoexec.cfg config
Traditionally, deathmatch shooters have a strange characteristic: They set new standards in the graphics department regularly, yet you have to disable most of the details if you want to play on a more advanced level. Basically, there is no chance to play Quake4 competitively without a good config file.
You can use the below autoexec.cfg file as a start. Q4 does not

Here it is, the best week so far in terms of game releases!
We have the "non-tactical" duel of the first person shooters FEAR and Quake4 which is most likely to become the new multiplayer deathmatch reference as online and offline esport leagues will pick up this title and drop Painkiller which nobody really liked or played anyway. Thus 6 years after the last Quake title we have a new gory

EGFL 2005: The grand final
Summer is gone and the EGFL 2005 finals are here. Last year's champion Blood will fight it out against OurFreedom, a squad which recently formed and is a 1:4 underdog to Blood if we can believe EG forum predictions.Blood surprised everybody by shutting up Silence, making them dissolve after Blood won both semi final games in the best-of-3 series in less than 1 hour

How to legally play World of Warcraft for free...
So it looks like we found a flaw in Blizzard's charging.
A guild mate and me cancelled our WoW subscribtions some time ago and they both expired around the end of last month.
Now, we can still play for free on the official servers for the new patch as the test realms don't seem to be connected to the main billing center of World of Warcraft. The

World of Warcraft 1.60 patch available for download
Yesterday Blizzard patched the EU versions of their MMORPG up to version 1.60.
It supposedly fixes some character related bugs and was intended to be specifically a fix for Hunters and Warlocks. Also, the talent trees of Warlocks and Warriors were changed so all players using these chars get all their talent points back and can redistribute

Chew Crew surprisingly wins EGDL 3
Chewbot's EGDL team, the big time underdog of this year's draft league, takes the win in 2 games lasting over 2 hours together.
One might argue that Annihilate, Knitex's team, didn't have a chance because they were missing some players but the Chew Crew took a hit as well with Orc, Element Sun, Lammy and other starters missing in both games.
